Martin Røymark scored two goals for series leader Vålerenga, but Storhamar equalized to 4-4 on the tamp. In the penalty competition, the guests from Hamar were strongest. Røymark scored the 4-3 goal with eleven minutes left of the third period. Two minutes before the end, Andreas Dahl was well placed in front of goals and steered 4-4. In the penalty competition, Tommy Hjelm became the hero with the only score. Vålerenga has lost points in just three games so far this season. Petter Thoresen’s crew thus took an important triumph. Vålerenga is still a series leader, but failed to get a big hatch down to Frisk Asker, who went on a surprising loss for Sparta Sarpsborg on Saturday. VIF has 22 points, Frisk 21 and Storhamar 17. Two other matches were played in the elite hockey league on Saturday night. Stavanger Oilers won 4-2 over the Star, while Frisk Asker lost 1-3 at home to Sparta Sarpsborg. (NTB)
