Extreme weather events have wreaked havoc across the region, inflicting damages on buildings and housing estimated between 1.5 and 2.1 billion. These figures come from preliminary assessments by the Norwegian Natural Damage Pool, an organization that serves as the liaison between the Norwegian insurance industry and the State Natural Damage Fund.

To date, more than 11,000 incidents of injury have been reported. In addition to this substantial toll on property, vehicles and boats have also suffered significant damage, with many losses covered by various insurance schemes. Furthermore, the storm’s impact extends to critical infrastructure, causing widespread damage to roads and bridges.

The hardest-hit areas include Vestland, Trøndelag, Rogaland, and Vestfold, with municipalities like Bergen, Oppdal, and Larvik bearing the brunt of the storm’s fury.
