Jakob Ingebrigtsen struggled with an injury throughout the summer season, but his strong performance indoors this spring provided him with the title as the name of the year in Norwegian athletics.
In February, the 25-year-old set two world records indoors during the race at an English mile in French Lievin. He beat the best listing at 1500 meters in the same race. In March, the Sandnes runner was able to cheer for two golds both during the World Cup in China and the European Championships in the Netherlands (1500 and 3000 meters).
Although injury trouble led to him not attending competitions outdoors until in the World Cup in Tokyo in September, he is the name of the year in athletics, the reason states.
The performance prices went to Type fighter Sander Skotheim and running star Henriette Jæger.
Skotheim was recently voted the best many in the world this season despite failing during the Tikampen in the World Cup.
The running phenomenon Håkon Moe Berg and Skjalg Kongssund received the Development Award, which is an award for athletes under 23, while the visually impaired Salum Ageze Kashafali received the Paraprisen.
