Before the season ends today, Uno-X were 401 points ahead of Cofidis in the battle for 19th place in the world rankings.
Now it looks like the day could be more exciting than expected:
Because in the Japan Cup, Ion Izagirre rode to third place and secured 125 points. Two teammates made the total score 180 points.
During the last stage of the Tour de Guanxi, the sprinter Stanisław Aniołkowski was second. That means 25 new points for the French team. In addition, Sylvain Moniquet received 20 points for 19th place overall and Emmanuel Buchmann 2 points for his 52nd place.
The distance is thus down to 174 points in favor of Uno-X.
Later on Sunday, the Norwegian team will participate in the Chronos Des Nations time trial in France and the Veneto Classic in Italy – where Cofidis is also participating. We will get the answer after 5 pm today.
Due to the merger of Intermarché and Lotto, 19th place in this year’s ranking will hold a World Tour license for the next three years.
