Both teams have twelve points after five games. Germany tops the group with a three goal better goal difference. The Slovakians host Germany in the final group stage match on Monday. It will determine which nation wins the group and gets a direct place in the football World Cup in 2026, while the other has to go into the play-offs. Half a minute into overtime, Bobcek put the ball into the goal after a corner kick and secured a 1-0 victory for Slovakia. Daniel Ballard was sent off later in injury time for Northern Ireland.
