Tomas Bobcek sent Slovakia soaring when he secured a 1-0 victory against Northern Ireland in the World Cup qualifier. The triumph could cheat Germany of the group victory. Both teams have twelve points after five games. Germany tops the group with a three goal better goal difference. The Slovakians host Germany in the final group stage match on Monday. It will determine which nation wins the group and gets a direct place in the football World Cup in 2026, while the other has to go into the play-offs. Half a minute into overtime, Bobcek put the ball into the goal after a corner kick and secured a 1-0 victory for Slovakia. Daniel Ballard was sent off later in injury time for Northern Ireland. Newcastle forward Nick Woltemade scored two goals for Germany after the break against Luxemburg and thus secured a 2-0 victory on Friday. (© NTB)
