Norway has pledged a substantial NOK 30 billion over the next decade to support a newly established rainforest fund known as TFFF. This significant commitment was unveiled by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during the recent climate summit in Belém, Brazil.

“Stopping deforestation is absolutely essential to limiting climate change and preserving our natural ecosystems. The world’s rainforests simply cannot afford to wait,” Støre emphasized, underscoring the urgency of the initiative.

The TFFF fund, launched by Brazil in anticipation of this year’s climate summit, aims to collect resources that will be directed towards countries demonstrating effective stewardship of their rainforest territories. The objective is clear: to incentivize and reward nations that successfully protect these vital ecosystems.
