Fredrik Møller mastered the extremely twisty conditions in Beaver Creek brilliantly and took the second podium of his career in the World Cup during the super-G race in the USA. He finished second.

In snowy weather and strong winds, Møller drove very well from starting number ten. In the end he was beaten only by the Austrian veteran Vincent Kriechmayr.

    – It was challenging to drive, but I didn’t make any big mistakes, Møller told Viaplay.

He did not feel confident that the race could not be completed.

    – I hope it won’t be cancelled, but I know the truth. Someone else will be in charge, said Møller.

After 31 runners, the organizers drew the line. In any case, a winner could be chosen.

Møller has only been on the podium once before. It was in a super-G race on the Olympic trails in Bormio last Christmas. Then he won.

During the race, the organizer had to take a long break to wait for better weather conditions. The start was also postponed as a result of the challenges. A number of drivers did not make it to the finish line.

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde found it tough from a late start number. He raced out after just a few wickets but stayed on his feet. Kilde recently made a comeback in the World Cup after a rare injury nightmare.

Austrian Raphael Haser was third in Beaver Creek on Friday. (NTB)
