The organizer of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles announced on Tuesday six host cities that will host football matches during the games in two and a half years’ time. There will be Olympic football from coast to coast as it will be played in New York, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, San Jose and San Diego. It is already clear that the Rose Bowl in Pasadena will be the final venue for both men and women. In New York, it will be played at New York City’s new stadium in Queens, which is under construction and will be completed next year. Otherwise, they will play at established MLS and NWSL arenas. The teams will not have to travel back and forth from coast to coast. The Olympic organizer plans to start the tournament on the east coast and move west towards California, where the final rounds will be decided. (NTB)
