Wolverhampton shocked Premier League leaders Arsenal by drawing 2-2 in extra time.

Arsenal have played two drawn games in the Premier League recently, and now Manchester City are just five points behind with a game less played.

Arsenal were in full control on Wednesday with 2-0 after just under an hour, but Wolves, who before the game had collected just nine points from 26 games, came back.

The equalizer came after a blunder in the Arsenal defense three minutes into extra time. Keeper David Raya and star stopper Gabriel went up in the same duel, and the ball fell to Tom Edozie. The 19-year-old shot towards goal, where Riccardo Calafiori blocked the ball in the post, back into himself and into the goal.

Wolves got into the game when Hugo Bueno reduced the score with an artful goal.

Bukayo Saka scored after four minutes. The winger headed the ball into the goal after a cross from Declan Rice.

It was Saka’s first goal since early December. The 24-year-old, who is rumored to agree with Arsenal on a new contract, has had some injury problems after Christmas.

After just under an hour, Piero Hincapie was sent through by stopper Gabriel. The former shot into the roof of the net.

It was not enough to win.

Martin Ødegaard has struggled with injury recently and sat out against Wolves, but Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta hopes to have the captain ready for Sunday’s rival match against Tottenham.
