Bodø/Glimt will receive no less than NOK 120 million as a gift for the club’s new stadium project. In addition, the loan financing is in place.
It is Sparebank 1 Nord-Norge and the Sparebankstiftelsen that are behind the three-figure million sum that accrues to Glimt.
Glimt’s new home ground has been given the project name Arctic Arena.
– This is a historic investment for both the club, the city and the entire region. We at Sparebank 1 Nord-Norge are proud to be able to contribute to Bodø/Glimt getting a future-oriented arena. This is a project that will have ripple effects far beyond football, says CEO Hanne Karoline Kræmer.
The new arena will have a capacity of 10,000 spectators and will meet the requirements of the European Football Association (Uefa) for international matches.
The project has a total cost frame of over NOK 1.2 billion. The arena is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2027.
– For us at Glimt, this support is much more than a financial contribution. It is a clear signal that Northern Norway believes in us, in the region’s development and in the community we create together. A new arena is absolutely essential for continued sporting development, says Glimt’s general manager Frode Thomassen.
