Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola announced that his players would be weighed after the Christmas celebrations. Erling Braut Haaland more than suggests that there was no problem. It is said that what you eat between New Year and Christmas is more important, not Christmas and New Year, but City manager Guardiola obviously still wanted to keep a watchful eye on his players. A few days before Christmas, the Spaniard announced that his players would gain weight when training resumed on Christmas Day. Haaland and his teammates were granted a short Christmas break after the 3-0 win over West Ham at the weekend. On Thursday, they were back in the club’s premises. – They will return on the 25th, and I will be there and check how many kilos come up, and see if they come back fat, Guardiola said at a press conference before this weekend’s game. – The moment they come back after three days, I want to see what they look like. They can eat at Christmas, but I want to have control over them, he added. On Christmas Day, Haaland posted a picture on social media where he is standing on a scale. The picture is accompanied by the text: – Everything is fine! City’s next Premier League game is against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day. – Imagine a player who is perfect now, but who comes back three kilos heavier. He stays in Manchester. He is not going to Nottingham, Guardiola said last Friday. The Spaniard himself is said to have booked a short holiday in Barcelona during the Christmas break. (NTB)
