– I’m training to get further and further away from the injury I had in my Achilles, so that’s positive, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen to NRK about the injury he has been struggling with for the last two months.
The sore Achilles means that he will not be seen in Bislett Games this week.
Now the 24-year-old reveals that it could be another two months before he competes.
– There is a fairly big break from mid-July to mid-August, where fortunately we can and must focus on training. Whether there will be competitions before that, I am very unsure. I will have to see what happens in the next two weeks, but for now, at least things are going in the right direction.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s main goal for the season comes in September. The World Athletics Championships will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21.

May lose super duel
Ingebrigtsen is scheduled to compete in the Diamond League events in Eugene on July 5 and London on July 19. It could happen quickly.
– I kind of see how my body is day by day. I’ve actually been doing that for the last two months. It’s still a bit uncertain what’s going to happen, but the most important thing is to get my body back to 100 percent, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

Starting running team
The main reason why Jakob Ingebrigtsen met with the press on Wednesday was the launch of his own running team “Spring Run Cub”, with brothers Henrik and Filip.
They will be joined on the team by former skier Marthe Kristoffersen and long-distance runner Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal.
– The most important reason why we are doing this is that we want to share our knowledge and build a global running movement for everyone who loves running, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the press release.
