    – The highlight was seeing Trine in the beautiful dress.

That’s what TV 2’s football expert and national team commentator Jesper Mathisen (38) says. He has been in a relationship with former athlete Trine Mjåland (35) since 2007.

Now they are finally married after living together for many years.

Only a few knew about the wedding.

    – It was a little different, but we didn’t want a traditional wedding, says Mathisen to NRK.

They gave each other their “yes” on a stage in Kristiansand, in the hall there were over 1,000 cheering guests.

The occasion was TV 2 Sporten’s podcast B-laget, which had a Christmas show in Mathisen’s hometown, Kristiansand.

    Many thought it was “meat”

Most of them did not know that they had paid several hundred kroner to participate in the TV profile’s wedding.

But first Mathisen had to speak on stage.

    – For those of you who think this is “meat”. This is not it, Mathisen said.

After the show and the wedding were over, he says that few people knew about the stunt.

    – We are not quite A4, we mostly go our own way, said Mathisen and added:

    – I think someone who really knows us realized that this was really real.

PRIEST: Former teammate and now celebrity Bernt Hulsker appeared on stage as a priest. Shortly afterwards, mayor Mathias Bernander came in to marry the bride and groom.

    Been waiting

The former athlete Mjåland could reveal that she has been waiting for marriage for many years. Mathisen thought more practically.

    – It was okay to take it when everyone was together, Mathisen said on stage.

Mate in the podcast, Marius Skjelbæk stood up as best man. Former teammate Bernt Hulsker entered the stage as a priest for the occasion, but he was without the right to marry.

Thus Mayor Mathias Bernander arrived on stage with the right to marry.

A large crowd sits and stands in an auditorium. Several people are dressed in different colors and styles. The audience looks towards the stage, where something is happening, but the details are invisible. The surroundings have wood and modern lighting.

FULL: There were well over 1,000 people inside the hall.

The B-team podcast refers to itself as “A podcast about football and life”.

Mathisen runs the podcast together with TV 2’s sports profiles Marius Skjelbæk and Simen Stamsø Møller.

The trio has previously done several stunts and in 2021 released the song “Super Bowl: ja or nei”. The song has over 4 million plays on the streaming service Spotify.

Three people sit on sofas on a stage, with a large background projection behind. One holds a microphone and participates in a conversation, while the others listen. A table with water bottles and a drink is located between them. The setting appears to be an event or conference.

    Hinted in advance

The couple Mathisen and Mjåland have lived together for many years and had their third child earlier this year.

Last week, Mjåland hinted that something big was about to happen.

Last week, Start moved up to the Eliteserien.

“It will be difficult to top it, but we will try next Thursday,” she wrote on Facebook.

Football expert Mathisen had to retire in 2015 after suffering a serious knee injury in 2014.

Since then, he has been associated with TV 2 as a football expert and helped start a padel chain.

He was recently TV 2’s expert commentator during the international matches when Norway qualified for the WC.

Mjåland is a former athlete and made a big impression when she qualified for the EC four months after giving birth in 2016.
