Rising Threats: Swedish Criminal Networks Expand into Norway

In recent years, Swedish criminal networks have firmly entrenched themselves in Norway, bringing not only violence and drug trafficking but also an urgent need for money laundering. This surge in organized crime necessitates heightened vigilance, improved protocols, and rigorous oversight for those in reporting roles.

To address these pressing issues, Stø, previously known as BankID BankAxept, is partnering with Eiendom Norge and Regnskap Norge to host a series of conferences across Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, and Stavanger. These events will focus on how reporting obligations can adapt to the evolving landscape shaped by Swedish criminal activities.

The spotlight will be on investigative journalists Axel Gordh Humlesjö and Diamant Salihu, with Humlesjö participating in all locations and Salihu attending the Oslo event. Both are well-known for their work on SVT’s Assignment Review, where they uncovered the Swedbank scandal and delved into the intricate workings of the Foxtrot network. Their presentations will provide attendees with an insider’s perspective on two of Sweden’s most shocking criminal cases, illustrating that these issues extend beyond mere gang violence to encompass financial fraud and the vulnerabilities within our institutions.

Participants will also hear from representatives of Økokrim and local police districts, who will share updates and insights on how this new wave of Nordic crime is being addressed both nationally and at the community level.

As Sweden appears to be several steps ahead in this regard, it’s crucial for those in the reporting community in Norway to closely monitor developments across the border. Understanding the tactics employed by Swedish criminals is key to preventing similar trends from taking root here, particularly the alarming trend of children being exploited to carry out serious offenses that jeopardize their futures and the safety of others.

All attendees will receive a course certificate, with real estate agents eligible for five hours of continuing education upon completion.

Continued updates on additional presenters will be provided, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for all participants.
