A man in his 50s has been sentenced in Vestfold District Court to 45 days in prison for kicking a six-year-old kindergarten boy in the crotch and in the butt.

The court found it clearly aggravating that the act was committed against a child and that the defendant, as an employee of the kindergarten, should have acted as a carer for the victim, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.

The man is also sentenced to pay the boy NOK 10,000 in restitution.
