The legendary, but also feared, Kitzbühel was up for grabs when a total of eight Norwegian athletes set out on Sunday morning.
Atle Lie McGrath, who leads overall in the World Cup in slalom, drove off the slopes once again.
It is the fifth time in a row that the 25-year-old has failed to finish a race in Kitzbühel.
– You have to be on the verge of winning here, it’s just a shame that I’m going out on the biggest arena, McGrath said to NRK after the 1st half.
However, Henrik Kristoffersen showed good stability, and drove into third place halfway through the competition.
Kristoffersen made history last weekend with his 100th World Cup podium.
Norwegian-Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen did not have the day in Switzerland either.
– The arms are hanging down like cooked spaghetti, said NRK’s commentator, Carl Andreas Wold, about Braathen’s body language after the first half.
