COMPETITIVE SAMBOERS: Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder had a chat out on the grass after the European Championship meeting.
Sweden’s Filippa Angeldahl scored the only goal of the game ten minutes into the second half, giving the yellow and blue team a good start to the championship.
– It’s simply fair, there’s a fairly massive sustained pressure from Sweden. The Danes can’t resist it, and the Swedes are deservedly leading, commented NRK’s football expert Bengt Eriksen.

– We didn’t want to be in the same group. But when we’re on the field, it’s probably like a normal game. It’s mostly what happens before kick-off that’s a little different. But when we go out on the field there, we’re two players who just want to win, and want to win for our country. In a way, I just want that game to be over, she says.

– It was easy in the World Cup when Denmark wasn’t there. But maybe if we don’t advance, and Sweden gets to the final. But I won’t do it if it’s a quarter-final or semi-final, she says in the interview with Aftonbladet.

– There is a personal aspect to the match for me. Although we have played with and against each other many times, it is very special that I am meeting my partner, Magda Eriksson, at the European Championship for the first time, she writes.

– I’m not talking about our tactics, and she’s not talking about their tactics, but we know each other pretty well, and so do the countries. It’s hard for our families – they get really nervous about us playing each other, they want the best for both of us. That’s the hard part. You want the best for each other, but not at that moment, says Harder.

Nor do the two talk tactics when the match approaches.
– We keep in touch, but when it comes to our games, we don’t talk about football at all. Obviously we want the other person to do well, but not against each other.
– Not sharing everything
