Remember to Tick the Requisition
For test results to be integrated into the core medical record portal, it’s essential that the purpose of the test is healthcare-related, and the patient is willing to share their information. Thus, those requesting the sample must ensure two crucial boxes are checked on the requisition form:
Please note that the requisition form for porphyria analyses has recently been updated to include an option to address this requirement.
Provided the requesting physician ticks these boxes correctly, the laboratory at Haukeland University Hospital will send a copy of the test results directly to the core record. This information will be accessible to both the requesting physician and other healthcare providers across Norway.
It’s important to emphasize that the results recorded in the core system do not replace the traditional method of delivering test results for porphyria analyses. The requesting doctor will continue to receive the results in their usual format, whether on paper or digitally.
Accessing Test Answers on Helsenorge for Patients
Test results sent to the core medical record portal will be available to patients on Helsenorge after a waiting period of 14 days. However, the ordering physician may choose to release the results earlier, allowing patients to access their test answers sooner. Patients will receive a notification from Helsenorge as soon as the results become available.
