Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says the Premier League club is almost caught in a vicious spiral with regard to injuries. The problems never stop hitting them.
The injury situation at the London club became a topic when Arteta met the press ahead of the Mesterliga meeting with Club Brugge.
The centre-back trio of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães and Cristhian Mosquera have all been placed on the sidelines recently. The same has been the case for Kai Havertz.
At the weekend, the jewel Max Dowman also suffered a long-term injury.
Part of the story is that Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, Christian Nørgaard and Piero Hincapie have all suffered injuries during the autumn.
Arteta denies that the team’s training philosophy is the cause.
– But when you are short of players, the burden on other players becomes greater, and that has consequences. It is a really dangerous circle, he says according to Sky Sports.
He further adds that not all injuries are of the same nature in terms of severity. (NTB)
