The Montréal Canadiens beat Mats Zuccarello’s Minnesota Wild 4-3 at home at Center Bell on Tuesday night. Cole Caufield scored the winning goal with 15 seconds left in the third period. The Minnesota Wild took the lead in overtime when Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 12th goal of the season after assists by Mats Zuccarello and Quinn Hughes. The home team quickly hit back. Phillip Danault equalized, before Alexandre Carrier sent the Montréal Canadiens into a 2-1 lead before the first break. In the second period, Brock Faber equalized for the Wild, but Lane Hutson provided another Montréal lead. Tarasenko scored his second goal of the evening in excess and the period ended 3-3. The decision came late in the third period when Cole Caufield scored 4-3. Zuccarello finished with two assists, and got 21 minutes and 52 seconds on the ice. (NTB)
